LTF (Lint Trap Kit) is designed to vent inside the home. Do not use a gas dryer with this product; gas fumes would be vented inside the home and could result in increased carbon monoxide levels.

EX12 (Extra Heat-Heat Saver) can be hooked up to divert heat inside a room. Same as the LTF, a gas dryer venting inside a home can result in increased carbon monoxide levels.

Deflecto's Supurr-Flex multi-layered metallic duct or our 3-ply metallic duct are UL181 Class 1 Air Connectors. These UL Listed ducts are most commonly used in residential applications.

Yes, we have a wide variety of dryer venting tested to UL2158A. Check out our UL Listed Product Page. Also, we have a wide range of UL181 air duct product lines.  Deflecto is also an active member of HARDI, HRAI, ADC, ADI, and other Industry groups. 

UL 2158A is a standard developed for clothes dryer transition duct products.

UL 181 is the materials requirement in the fabrication of air duct and air connector systems.  The standard was created by taking into consideration a vast array of safety-related installation circumstances regarding flammability and structural integrity.  The tests required to qualify the material for this standard apply to both flexible and rigid ducts. 

Class 1 material is classified as having a flame-spread index of not over 25 without evidence of continued progressive combustion and a smoke-developed index of not over 50.

Class 0 material is classified as having a surface burning characteristic of zero flame spread and smoke development.

No! The proper items are A0 products (semi-rigid aluminum duct UL181 and UL 2158A), F0 products (Foil dryer transition duct UL 2158A), Solid aluminum pipe or 28 gauge galvanized pipe. Always verify with local building code requirements. Deflecto manufactures and sells all of these products.

Deflecto makes a Universal Bird Guard. Designed to prevent birds and rodents from entering your dryer or bathroom vent, the bird guard mounts over any existing 3-inch or 4-inch wide-mouth or louvered vent. Attach our bird guard with screws. When using over a dryer vent hood, make sure to clean it regularly to prevent lint build-up.

Try Deflecto's "Skinny Duct" (DAF series) dryer venting products. These all-metal venting systems allow you to position the clothes dryer to within 2.5" to 4" of the wall. We also sell the recessed dryer part (DVBOXKIT)

Deflecto has two kits that allow clothes dryer hook up without the use of tools, tape or clamps. One uses UL Listed duct (HUPK8F) and one semi-rigid aluminum duct (HUPK89WA/25). Ask for Deflecto's Hook-Up plus Protector Kits.

You should clean or replace your dryer duct at least twice a year. A clean duct reduces drying time, puts less stress on your dryer, and, most importantly, protects your family and home from fire. Remember to check your dryer vent hoods periodically and remove lint or other debris, if present.

Deflecto offers a dryer cleaning kit (item DVBOXKIT) that will allow you to clean out your duct in hard to reach places. It is important to remember to clean the back of your dryer as well and always remember to clean your dryer's lint trap after each use. Dryer lint brush sold separately (item DVBRUSH).

Vinyl hose creates static electricity. When warm moist lint travels through the duct, it adheres to the wall of the vinyl. This results in a reduction of airflow, causes backpressure and makes the dryer have to work harder, possibly overheating and perhaps resulting in a dryer fire. Deflecto has excellent replacement products for your plastic and vinyl duct, like Semi-Rigid Duct, Flexible Metallic Duct, and Supurr-Flex Metallic Duct.
